Giving Potential Tenants The Option Of Supplying Their Own Reports
Whenever a new tenant applies to rent an apartment in my building I like to look at their credit report just to see how they pay the bills. Many people are hesitant to allow you pull their credit reports. What I do is tell them if you’re interested in the apartment you can either allow me to pull your credit or you can produce your own copy of the report. I tell them that they are eligible for a yearly credit report and they just have to call in order to receive it. Once they know that I will accept their own report they usually don’t mind providing the information.
