Our good friends are having their yearly Halloween party and this year they want everyone to submit a 2 minute movie. My husband refuses to be in it, but my gay mormon friend said she would do it. I was laughing. She doesn’t look like a guy at all, although my gay mormon friend did win a contest years ago for being the best looking man dressed as a woman. She went to this bar with some friends and didn’t have the heart to tell them she really was a woman. How embarrassing! Still need an idea for our movie.

My father is one of the smartest people that I have ever known. He is always coming up with ideas to help my mother out around the house. He makes different gadgets all the time, and she says that they really do help her out a lot. Other than that, he has never really done anything with his great talent. Attending my mother’s funeral is a painful experience. I really wanted to be there, but I did not want to say goodbye to my mother, not yet. It is much too soon. I feel like I have just really gotten to know her in the last few years. Now I’m giving her eulogy to people who know her better than I did. Because my mom couldn’t take care of me, I was given up for adoption as a baby. For years I never even knew I had another mother somewhere. When we finally reconnected a year ago, we had to squeeze a life time into twelve short months. At least I have those memories.
